I recently did and upgrade thing for AOL cause it told me to, and now the damn fucking thing won't log in. I don't get it. It said "can't reach server" like when you're not connected to the internet. I'm very pissed off. I've been unable to use AIM since last Wed. This pisses me off.

I'm conviced my evil computer is behind this. I need to take this computer to the highest possible point and drop kick it into oblivion.

Can someone explain to me why me spelling has just gone down the crapper since I started posting stuff on livejournal? Even on AIM, where I used to have impeccable grammar and spelling, I've gotten very sloppy.

Need to fix this...

My bedroom actually looks like an adult lives there.

The study's kinda crazy but that's because it's the dumping ground of stuff that I have to put away (which I'm gonna do tonight).

I am actually doing laundry. Which I haven't done in over a month. (I had to do it... I ran out of towels).

And I'm going to Acme as soon as I put the first load in the dryer.

Wow. I'm being productive. How did that happen?

I called the person in charge of hiring at Tauck yesterday but couldn't get a hold of her, so I left a message.

I still haven't heard back from her.

I ate like a fucking pig yesterday and SOMEHOW I managed to lose three pounds... can someone explain to me the logic of this? I mean, I did have a great workout at the gym... but come on!

Maybe its the fact that I barely slept last night cause I couldn't fall asleep, and willed myself to continue work on the study (which is looking much better, btw). Most of the bookcases are done sorting. The CDs are done. All that's left is the files to put away (which I still haven't sat down to sort through... and probably won't do today cause I have a headache). And then there's the messy horror that is the closets. Oy.

BUT! I have strategized a plan! It'd occurred to me that the source of my problem is that I never properly establish where to put away shit. And there's stuff that's like scattered when I could just conglomerate them all into one location in the house. So I have devised a masterplan of where everything should be once I'm finished cleaning, which is helping me blitzkrieg throughout the entire house.

Right now I'm working on getting everything that isn't going to be stashed away in dead storage into their proper places. That way, I can see how much space I have left and can accordingly sort out the crap that I really don't need to stow anyway.

Which means the dining room downstairs (basically only room of the house that doesn't get active use and actually won't be the final resting place of any of the crap, as there are no storage facilities ther) has become command central. Right now it is holding a bunch of crap that is getting discarded one way or antoher (books, furniture pieces, computer equipment). But it will soon also temporarily house displaced items while I find a home for them.

Piece by piece it all comes together. :-)

So, I'm joining a new gym in Wayne today. Going over in a little bit. After I make a phone call I have been dreading for two weeks... I'm calling to see if they want me for an interview at Tauck. Sooooo nervous. Wish me luck!!

Also, got a preview of the new show at Vasey last night. It was... interesting.

BTW... I'm actively considering learning a few additional languages. Three to be exact. Italian and German seem the logical next steps. Considering what should be the sixth. Portuguese seems a logical choice, but I think that one just wouldn't count once I know Spanish, French, and Italian. Ditto Catalan. They'll really just learn themselves at that point.

I've had a recent hankering to learn Swedish, but find no usability for it (unless I get the job at Tauck and somehow land the Scandinavian tours). I also like Russian, but really? It's a whole complete new alphabet. Then there's the option of Chinese or Japanese, but wow... let's talk about new alphabet. At least with Russian I can guess sorta what those things are supposed to sound like, based on it's proximity to Greek alphabet. Which brings me to Greek... hmmm... thoughts people?

Other candidates are Dutch, Danish, Hungarian, Czech, or Polish. But these would only be considered after a proficiency in German.

Bottom line... which one is most useful?

So this is why I love my iPod:
3,084 songs and 4 tv epiosodes
Which equates to just over 7 DAYS worth of entertainment
Which only takes up little over 10 GB of space
Which still leaves me with little under 50 GB of space
Which could arguably equate to 35 MORE DAYS worth of entertainmen

That's so sexy.

I've finally done it boys and girls... I have crossed to the dark side.

I have to stop here and mention that when I said these very word to Kristen she said "What, you've bought something that wasn't designer?" and I seriously had to stop in the middle of the mall and sit down I was laughing so hard.

Anyway, no... the dark side in this case means Mac... as in not a PC... as in I just bought myself an iMac G5. (and picked up an iPod while I was at it). Why did I do this? Because my PC has finally pissed me off to no end. And because I didn't get any Christmas gifts from my parents. Not even a fucking piece of chocolate. And because I've had a shitty year and this might cheer me up.

I will say this... still getting used to the damn thing. I wanna kill AIM, but that's besides the point. It fucking keeps shutting down on me for no reason!!! I thought crap like that didn't happen to Macs... but of course it has to happen to me... grrrrr...

Still... I'm now going to play with my iPod, filling it with every single song known to man... or at least, to me...

Oh, yeah, did I mention I got the 60gb one? :-D

"The Phantom of the Opera" has just outlived those fucking angorra "Cats" as longest running show on Broadway... and doesn't look anywhere ready to stop.

So maybe my favorite show, "Les Miserables," fell short by about a thousand performances, but it looks like "Phantom will come out on top by a thousand more. (right now it only has one more perfomance than "Cats"... but like I said, it ain't stopping.)

Some people predict that "The Lion King" will get to eventually surpass "Phantom" but I will be DAMNED if that ever comes to be.

Which is why I am now advocating the "Don't go see Lion King, rent the movie instead" campagin. Seriously. Get a hold of some footage showing you the opening number. That's all you need to see. The rest is boring. It's the movie. Minus James Earl Jones, Nathan Lane, Ernie Sabella, Matthew Broderick, and Jeremy Irons. Seriously, is that even worth seeing?!

I think not.
